Looking for art exhibitions in Fowey in 2026? This guide highlights key exhibition dates, preview evenings and Regatta Week gallery events at The Old Bank and Fowey River Gallery, with work by local and contemporary artists inspired by Cornwall’s coast, rivers, woodland and creative communities.

This summer, Fowey’s galleries are making a compelling reason to step inside, slow down, and put a few art-filled evenings firmly in the diary. Two Fowey art exhibition dates are especially worth planning around: the Confluence Preview Evening at The Old Bank on Saturday 8 August from 5pm, and the Regatta Week Open Evening at Fowey River Gallery on 18 August 2026.
The first date to circle is at The Old Bank, where Confluence runs from 8-28 August. The exhibition brings together four artists from across the river in a group show that feels varied, textured and full of conversation: different materials, different styles, but with a shared sense of place.
Olivia Clifton-Bligh’s work moves between sculpture and print, with a focus on form and texture, while Olivia Drew’s ceramics are more grounded and functional, with a handmade feel that makes them easy to live with. Louise Kidd’s paintings lean into landscape but with a looser, more expressive approach, and Janet Downes’ jewellery adds a more detailed, crafted element to the mix.
The Confluence Preview Evening at The Old Bank is on Saturday 8 August from 5pm. It's a chance to come along, meet the artists and see the work before the exhibition gets into full swing.
From there, the programme rolls straight into autumn. Saul Cathcart takes over in September (1-30) with bold, energetic paintings that use colour and mark-making to capture a sense of place. October (1-30) brings Aisleigh Anne, whose work is quieter and more atmospheric, and then from 1 December to 10 January, John Rabbetts returns with his well-known coastal scenes - Cornwall as many people recognise it.

The second August date belongs to Fowey River Gallery, where the Regatta Exhibition, Tradition and Tide in Fowey, runs from 3 August to 6 September 2026. This Fowey Regatta Week exhibition celebrates the town’s rich maritime heritage, capturing the energy, colour and community spirit of Regatta week. Featured artists include Mike Bernard, Julian Christophers and Annabel Menhenneott.
The Regatta Week Open Evening at Fowey River Gallery is on 18 August 2026. Plan it into Regatta week, bring a friend, and come along to meet the artists.
As summer gives way to autumn, Fowey River Gallery shifts direction with Whispers of the Wild, the Autumn Exhibition running from 14 September to 1 November 2026. This Fowey autumn art exhibition is a journey into forests, rivers and open skies, where sunlight spills through leaves and rivers carve their way through stone, celebrating the textures, colours and spirit of woodland and natural landscapes. Featured artists include Belinda Reynell, Kate Richardson and Suzy Sharpe. The Preview Evening is on 12 September 2026, offering a change of pace after the summer rush.
The best way to enjoy these shows is to make a plan now. Drop into the galleries while you are in town, put the preview evenings in your calendar, and give yourself time to meet the artists, ask questions and see the work up close.
