Friday eases in with Waine Downing at The Ship Inn, Siam Kitchen Thai Cuisine at Caffa Mill Car Park from 5pm to 8pm, Pizza Night at The Gribbin Shed from 5pm, and Thai Night at The Red Rocket from 6pm until sold out. Alongside some of the best cocktails in town, The Red Rocket will be serving drunken spaghetti Kee Mao with prawns and mixed Thai greens, chicken Panang curry with rice, and fresh summer rolls... a flavour-packed way to start the weekend.

The Regatta Exhibition at Fowey River Gallery is already underway and runs from 3 August until 6 September. With work inspired by Fowey’s sailing heritage and life on the water, it offers a gentler way to enjoy the regatta atmosphere. The gallery will also host a special Regatta Week Open Evening on Tuesday 18 August, making it one of the week’s cultural highlights.

By Saturday, the river takes centre stage as the Fowey Sailing Regatta gets under way, bringing boats, colour and competition to the water. The sailing programme continues until Friday 21 August, while the wider Fowey Royal Regatta runs from Sunday 16 to Saturday 22 August.

On Saturday evening there’ll be more live music, with Nick Mears performing at The Ship Inn. For something freshly baked, Tipsy Dough Pizza Co. will be serving at The Red Rocket on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August, while KernowForno Pizza Pop Up will be at Caffa Mill Car Park that evening. The Old Bank Fowey offers a quieter stop with Confluence, an exhibition bringing together printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, jewellery and painting from four artists from across the river.
