The Vault Exhibition

Eleanor Russell-Hsieh grew up in a small Cornish hamlet, spending her childhood exploring the surrounding rivers, woodlands and coastline—landscapes that continue to influence her work today.

After studying paper conservation at Camberwell College of Arts (University of the Arts London), she spent over a decade working as a paper conservator for leading institutions, including the British Museum, the British Library and the Natural History Museum.

Returning to south-east Cornwall in 2013, Eleanor began her journey into printmaking. Combining her lifelong passion for drawing with techniques such as lino, drypoint and monotype, she has developed a distinctive practice shaped by the tactile, expressive and often unpredictable nature of the medium.
