Overview

Preview Evening TBC

This upcoming exhibition presents a body of work shaped by the restorative power of Cornwall’s landscape and the artist’s personal journey towards calm and balance. Created during periods where anxiety has been a significant presence, the collection reflects a deep connection to nature, colour, and expressive mark-making as tools for healing and joy.

Rooted in a lifelong instinct to create, the artist’s practice is informed by an early hands-on approach to making, alongside a background as a chocolatier. This experience continues to influence the work through an emphasis on tactility and process, with techniques such as layering, scraping, and textural experimentation forming a central language within the paintings. Paint is approached as a material to be manipulated and explored, encouraging spontaneity and play.

At its core, the exhibition embraces art as a visceral, intuitive process. Each piece evolves organically, guided by movement, material, and emotion rather than predetermined outcomes. The result is a collection that captures both the immediacy of expression and the quiet, grounding presence of the natural world.
